UGCAC Presidents Message – March 2022
The Unocal Club has lined up speakers for the remaining two luncheons this year.
On May 12th Rog Hardy will return to present the history of off shore drilling on the US west coast. Since Unocal was a west coast company we were deeply involved throughout the past century in leading exploratory drilling along the entire coast.
The September 15th luncheon presentation will be made by Wylie Barrow, a past UGCAC board member. Wylie’s master’s thesis at Rice University provides the basis for the luncheon topic, “Barrows my Name and Cottons My Game: Triumph and Tragedy of a Cotton Empire in Louisiana, Loosing it all During the Civil War.
The Chevron Humankind matching fund program will be adding several help agencies to the list of supported nonprofits that will be giving aid to the victims of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
With best regards,
Jerry Lohr, President UGCAC
